Divine Charter Bus Rentals Moves CCV High School Camp to NAU in Arizona
50 Buses. 2,200+ Students.
Every summer, thousands of high school students across the Phoenix metro area pack their bags for one of the most anticipated events of the year. For Week 2 of Christ’s Church of the Valley’s High School Camp, Divine Charter Bus Rentals was trusted to make it happen. Here is a look at how we moved over 2,200 students to Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff and got every single one of them home safely.
About CCV Summer Camp
Christ’s Church of the Valley (CCV) is one of the largest and most active churches in Arizona, with campuses spread across the entire Phoenix metropolitan area and beyond. Each summer, CCV runs a series of overnight camps for students from 4th grade through graduating seniors. Their high school camp is a multi-day overnight experience held at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, giving students the chance to step away from everyday routines, build lasting friendships, and grow in their faith.
With campuses spanning from Surprise in the northwest to Maricopa in the south and Queen Creek in the east, coordinating private transportation for an event this size is no small undertaking. That is where Divine Charter Bus Rentals comes in.
50 Buses, 2,200+ Students: One Trusted Charter Bus Rental to NAU in Arizona
Week 2 of CCV’s High School Camp kicked off on June 8. Divine Charter Bus Rentals deployed 50 full-size charter buses to move more than 2,200 students from their home campuses across the Valley up to NAU’s campus in Flagstaff.
Every bus arrived fully prepared for the journey. Spacious undercarriage storage bays were loaded with camper luggage and gear, onboard entertainment systems kept students comfortable and engaged on the ride up, and professional drivers stayed focused on one thing: getting every student there safely and on time.
For a private rental operation of this scale, preparation is everything. Routes were coordinated in advance, drivers completed thorough pre-trip safety inspections on every vehicle, and the entire fleet operated in full DOT and FMCSA compliance. With 50 buses moving in coordination, there is no room for improvisation, and there is not any.

The Return Trip: 15 Arizona Campuses, One Coordinated Operation
If moving 2,200+ students to a single destination is impressive, getting them all home is where the real logistical work begins.
On June 11, the final day of camp, Divine Charter Bus Rentals coordinated the return transportation from NAU back to 15 separate CCV campuses spread across a wide geographic footprint, from the far West Valley to the East Valley, from metro Phoenix down to Maricopa and all the way up to the Verde Valley:
- Avondale
- Central Scottsdale
- Chandler
- Downtown Warehouse District
- East Valley, Mesa
- Laveen
- Maricopa
- Maryvale
- Midtown
- North Surprise
- Queen Creek
- Scottsdale
- Surprise
- Verrado
- Verde Valley Christian Church, Cottonwood
That is a service area stretching from Cottonwood in the north to Maricopa in the south, nearly 130 miles from tip to tip, with stops fanning out in every direction across metro Phoenix. Each campus received its students on time, with all gear and luggage accounted for.
What Makes a Large-Scale Arizona Charter Bus Operation Work
Events at this scale do not run smoothly by accident. A few things have to be true before a single bus leaves the yard.
Experienced drivers. Every Divine Charter Bus Rentals driver holds a commercial driver’s license (CDL), has passed a DOT physical, carries a clean driving record, and operates in full compliance with DOT regulations. These are not drivers who occasionally handle large groups. This is what they do.
A fleet built for it. Our full-size 56-passenger motor coaches are equipped with reclining seats, onboard restrooms, climate control, power outlets, overhead monitors, and generous undercarriage storage. When 2,200 students are bringing camp gear, you need charter buses that can handle the load, and ours do.
Pre-trip safety on every vehicle. Before any bus departs, drivers complete a comprehensive pre-trip inspection. Every vehicle in our fleet meets FMCSA standards and undergoes annual inspections. A charter bus is 50 times safer than a car and twice as safe as flying, and we take that responsibility seriously.
Logistics coordination. Multi-campus return operations require precise route planning, clear communication across the driver team, and the experience to anticipate challenges before they arise. With 60+ years in the charter bus business, our team plans accordingly.
Planning a Large Group Trip to Flagstaff or NAU?
If you are a church coordinator, school administrator, or youth program director organizing a similar event, here are a few things worth knowing as you start planning.
Book early. Summer camp season fills up fast, particularly for NAU and Flagstaff-bound trips. Securing your charter bus rental to NAU six to eight weeks in advance, or earlier for large multi-bus operations, gives you the best availability and time for proper route planning.
Have your campus list ready. For multi-stop return operations, knowing your drop-off locations upfront allows us to build the most efficient routing and provide an accurate quote from the start.
Think about gear. If students are bringing luggage or camp supplies, let us know. Our undercarriage storage is substantial, but it helps to plan ahead when you are moving thousands of bags.
Divine Charter Bus Rentals regularly provides private charter bus rentals for church groups, youth organizations, and faith-based programs throughout Arizona. Whether you are moving 50 students or 5,000, we will put together a transportation plan built around your specific needs. Please note that all of our services are private rentals and are not public bus transportation.
